There are a lot of things in Underground that could be better. First off, you should definately be able to customize the interior, like your steering wheel, seats, and even a little bit of neon.

Also you should be able to add a stereo system. As you go along, the better your stereo system is, the better the sound quality in the game is. One thing that I would like to see is convertibles. There should definately be more story in the story mode if you ask me. And one last thing. Someone needs to fix the freakin' traffic.
They are dummer than.! What I'd most like for NFSU2 (if there is one) is a better game engine, so that the game allows you to stuff the AI opponents instead of deliberately placing unavoidable traffic in your way, or that ridiculous 'catch up' routine. Make the tracks harder as you go along EA, not use the same track over and over again but with AI impossible physics routines!! Also I think I'd like to be able to drive anywhere in the city, so that if I can find a sneaky back route to shave a few seconds off a lap time, I should be able to use it. It amazes me how this city functions with all of the red and white bollards everywhere. Here come the pain - What I meant by better AI in the game engine, is a progressively harder, but consistent set of drivers, to race against, such that if you do manage to get 5 seconds ahead of them, they have a hard time to catch up. What currently happens is the AI in NFSU drives like a Scalextric set, perfect corners etc.
And can make up a 15 second gap in 2 corners, which is both unrealistic and disheartening. Basically EA needs to rewrite the race routines for other drivers, instead of using 'Other Traffic' as mobile roadblocks when you get too far ahead. A far longer Underground mode.
A ton more to unlock, with tons of extremely unique an unusual parts. Far more levels of unlockables via style points (apparently there's only about two or three more items to unlock via online-gained style points after I completed the main story, which just isn't enough). The ability to unlock and win unusual parts via special races, and particularly online competitions, and then trade them with others. Far more use for money, as well as the ability to use it after the story is complete. The ability to custom-build parts, including bumpers and side-skirts, as well as vinyls. A ton more cars. More involved, branching storyline.
A bunch of cool trick cameras like in HP2, but with special effects, like some bullet-time rotations, including stylish camera angles, like coming around the car and zooming into the tire as it touches back down to the ground, and other cool stuff. More advanced, although not simulation-level, tweaking, where CHOICES have an effect on your car, instead of your choice of package merely affecting what decals you unlock. Far better online, with keyboard and headset support (consoles), larger rooms, easier-to-set-up games, the ability to keep the same set of racers for another race without shooting back to the front menu, ability to wager in-game money on races and use that to purchase many of the extremely-expanded list of accessoris, and better matching systems to put people of similar skill levels together for more interesting races. Better cheat-prevention, particularly by up-loading all of the car's info and stats to the server before the race, allowing the server to quickly verify whether the specs are possible, and monitor whether any of them change (like Nitrous usage not matching up against how much the specs said you had) unusually during the race. I'm sure there's plenty more I could think of, really, but it's not coming to mind right now. I love this game so much that it disappoints me how much more there could be.
It needs more tracks, it could have 2 cities and then theres the variatons and highway races on the freeways that connects the cities, and they should let you create your own tracks, they can put a 3d map of the city and you choose what ways to use and the shortcuts, or at least a free roam race where you start at the edge of a city and you end at the oposite edge without closed streets or red arrows that dont let you pass. First of all, we need a solid story to the game, the main character needs like an ally, or racer partner or something. Make money more of an issue, i always had way more than i needed, Cars need more of a difference in performance the tracks are HORRIBLE towards like race 86, i use the skyline, and maybe i'm just a horrible racer, but between that bs catch-up option, and the ridiculous traffice, and 90 degree turns every other mile, it made this game so frustrating, it almost made me forget about all the other cool stuff.
A free roaming mode would be nice, where u cud pull up next to a car at a stop light, rev up your engine while a guy is next to you, an have the option of racing him or not. NO MORE LIL JON AND EASTSIDE BOYZ CRAP! Now i realize i'm not the biggest rap fan, but plz les get something besides this crap, I CANT RACE TO THIS!
Lol, also lets see if we can get some naked chicks as rewards, lol. My suggestions: -The introduction to the game, especially Underground mode: To get into Underground mode, you take some mysterious car that isn't yours that has Nitrous and everything in it already and you race. They should make something like Driver where you need to complete a set of tasks, but more suitable for the road. In Driver you needed to do like 360's, powerslide, burnout etc. To start, NFS: Underground 2 should have something like this.Catch Up: This thing is awful. You could have a 5+ second lead, and after the next turn, the CPU is passing you after taking an impossible turn.CPU: They need to make the computer controlled cars a little bit more realistic, as they cannot maintain a certain speed going around corners without crashing at least.Music: I agree, more music, I hate listening to the same thing over and over again. But you can pick which ones you want to hear for Intro/race/menu in the EA Trax option -Longer Underground mode: Too short, with many repetitive tracks -More Upgrades: I think there were not enough upgrades.
Maybe if you could internally customize your vehicle, that could add more reputation points.Colored logos: White and Black only? What were they thinking? -Cops: What a good racing game needs is cops trying to take you down as you try for first place along with roadblocks and speedtraps.Unique Upgrades: I think we should be able to unlock all the uniques as well as all the wide body kits.
'Actually, you can. You just go to game settings or whatever it is and turn it off. That's what I did.
It's great because the A.I. Doesn't catch up from a 20.00 sec. Gap in 2 sec.' Where is that? I looked for it forever and I just could not find that option. If you could tell me where this is, I would be grateful.
I was 100% sure you were only able to turn off Catch Up in Quick Race. However, I could be wrong.
